Umaima al-Khamis

Umaima al-Khamis

Saudi author Umaima al-Khamis was born in Riyadh in 1966. She has a BA in Arabic literature from King Saud University and a diploma in English from Washington University. She currently works for the Ministry of Education and chairs the Women's Committee at the Ministry of Culture and Information. She began publishing in newspapers and magazines at an early age, and has published several short story collections, a series of children's books entitled The Acacia Garden, and two novels: Sailors and The Leafy Tree.
