Renée Hayek

Renée Hayek was born in southern Lebanon and studied philosophy at the Lebanese University, before embarking on a career in journalism and literary translation. She has published eight novels including: The Well and the Sky, The Land of the Snows and Days of Paris. Her novel, Prayer for the Family, was longlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2009 and her latest novel A Short Life, was longlisted for the 2011 Prize.
