The IPAF Prize was officially launched in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in April 2007.
The inaugural shortlist and the judging panel of 2007/2008 have been announced on Tuesday 29th of January in a joint press conference which took place in both London and Abu Dhabi.
The announcement of the overall winner has taken place at a ceremony which was held on 10 March in Abu Dhabi. He is Egyptian writer Bahaa Taher, for his novel “Sunset oasis”.
